LULAC believes that an educated home buyer will make a satisfied home owner. It is our goal at the LNHC to bring knowledge and an understanding of the home buying process every step of the way. Our unique bilingual educational programs set us apart. Starting from financial literacy, identifying your family's financial goals and understanding how to exercise a budget, to learning how to get a loan and preventing foreclosure and predatory lending practices.

Helping the Hispanic community achieve long term home ownership is our priority. We are an organization that brings bilingual educational services to meet a growing need of home ownership.

SEMINARS

Home Buyer Seminars have been a key component of the LULAC Home Buyer Center's strategy for expanding home ownership opportunities. The LULAC National Housing Commission believes that by educating the Hispanic homebuyer, home ownership rates will continue to grow. These seminars are held in locations throughout the U.S. to make it more readily accessible to the Hispanic community. Seminars are conducted and organized by the LNHC, local LULAC councils, Corporate Partners and other housing organizations.

                     

Home Buyer seminars are held on a monthly basis in cities across the U.S. These seminars expand home ownership opportunities to Hispanics and provide referrals to preferred resources to avoid predatory practices. The LNHC is continually expanding these programs as the demand for affordable housing increases in key market areas across the country.

Our free Home Buyer Seminars offer extensive information on the home buying process to include establishing credit and budgeting, finding a lender and realtor you can trust, qualifying for a loan and understanding mortgage terms, and knowing the responsibilities and rights of being a homeowner.

Basics of Home Buying Seminar - Designed for first time home buyers that have limited time. Provides information on the home buying process in a 2-3 hour class. Topics include Credit and Budgeting and How to Get a Loan. Class offered in English and Spanish.

Home Buyer Certification Seminar - Extensive home buyer education class, 1 day only for 6 hours. Taught by certified instructors providing detailed information on the home buying process from credit and budgeting, getting a loan and finding a realtor, how to avoid predatory lending practices, to responsibilities of a home owner, and more.

Foreclosure Prevention and Intervention Seminars - 2-3 hour seminar that informs the home owner of options available for assistance, how to prevent foreclosures, advantages of communicating with the lender, foreclosure laws and much more to assist in getting through the foreclosure process. Class offered in English and Spanish.

Financial Literacy Classes - 2-3 hour class that focuses on developing money management skills by creating a budget for your family, evaluating income and expenses, and helping you meet your financial goals for the future. Class offered in English and Spanish.
